First Sunday

Last night we met and worshipped. We prayed.

We kicked off our New Worship by talking about prayer and all the different ways to pray.
When we look at the book of Psalms, we can read 150 different prayers. Some prayers are thanksgiving, some are crying out for forgiveness. Often our prayers are of supplication (petitioning God or asking for something).

I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy. Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.       Psalm 116:1-2
This week, write down your prayers in a journal and see what God reveals to you.

Karen Barber, the author of "Personal Prayer Power," has written an article about the 100 Answered Prayer Challenge. I encourage you to check out the link and see if maybe it's something God wants to challenge you to take on.

100 Answered Prayers Challenge

So many times, we can get discouraged and think God doesn't listen or respond to our prayers. We can feel like we're only involved in a one-sided conversation. This experiment challenges us to look for the way God works when we pray.

And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. Matthew 21:22

99 Balloons- October 11,2009

Last night, we talked about life, death, and encouragement.
We watched a video about a short life that God used.

Here's the description of the video from the website:
Eliot was born with an undeveloped lung, a heart with a hole in it and DNA that placed faulty information into each and every cell of his body. However, that could not stop the living God from proclaiming Himself through this boy who never uttered a word.

In the midst of heartbreaking tragedy, the Mooney family found the presence of God strengthening, comforting, and guiding them. Their story reminds us to seek God and endure our struggles rather than blame Him for our hardships.

This week, think about the blessings God has given us.

Welcome

Hey guys,

We wanted to create this site to share with you all the things that we talk about on Sunday nights. Here, you'll find the videos we show and the discussion topics we go over. Our desire is that you'll want to come to this site throughout the week to continue thinking about what we shared and hopefully be able to prepare you for future discussions.

We'll try to get some things loaded on here so you can post this link to your Facebook and have others join us!
